PvE vs PvP tier philosophy
A useful current tier list has to do two things. First, it has to separate PvE speed from PvP pressure. Second, it has to distinguish stable multi-source performers from fresh releases that still need live data. That matters right now because the March 18 official update added collaboration units that are too new for high-confidence long-term placement.
How to read the ranks
- S+: High-confidence build-around picks with repeated March 2026 community support.
- S: Strong, flexible heroes that rarely feel like wasted investment.
- A: Good units that need the right team, mode, or investment window.
- B: Usable specialists or stopgaps, not long-term priorities.
- Provisional: Newly released collaboration units still under active testing.
PvE tier list
For PvE, the shortest path to value is still wave clear plus stability. The names below are weighted toward story progression, ruby farming, tower progression, and broad account acceleration.
If your account still feels slow, fix PvE before anything else. A properly built Teo, Yeonhee, Freyja, or Mercure will improve daily value faster than spreading gear across multiple mid-tier units.
PvP tier list
PvP places a premium on control, survivability, and turn denial. The list below is more conservative because Arena value shifts faster than PvE value.
Radgrid and Reginleif are the clear March headline names here. After them, the safest PvP investment pattern is still frontline plus cleanse plus one real closer, not five pure damage picks.
Current meta trends
The current meta splits cleanly. PvE rewards fast clears and stable sustain. PvP rewards control and anti-burst discipline. The mistake is trying to solve both with the same underbuilt lineup.
PvE tempo
AoE carries still create the most total account value because they speed farming, story, and general unlocks.
PvP discipline
Cleanse, tanking, and disruption are still what separate stable Arena teams from teams that collapse after one bad turn.
Reroll priorities
Rerolling is still useful, but the best current advice is more moderate than it was during launch. Pocket Gamer explicitly notes that rerolling is not an absolute must, and Pro Game Guides still treats Teo as a premium early target because of how much easier he makes story and ruby farming.
Best-case hits
Teo, Yeonhee, Freyja, Mercure, plus one stable tank or support is a very strong early outcome.
Good enough threshold
If you get Teo or another high-end PvE carry and your support core is functional, stop rerolling and start building progression.
The account that starts progressing earlier usually beats the account that spends another day chasing perfection.
Team building tips
Use simple templates instead of trying to force a full meta comp immediately.
- Fast PvE: Rudy or Evan, Ace or Rachel, Teo or Yeonhee, plus one secondary carry or healer.
- Magic-leaning PvE/PvP: Freyja, Lina, Yeonhee, Mercure, plus a stable frontline.
- Bruiser PvP: Reginleif or Radgrid, Rudy, Rin or Vanessa, then one closer and one flex support.
When in doubt, simplify the team. Most underperforming accounts are losing to bad role balance, not to missing one legendary.
Mode-specific notes
Adventure
Favor AoE tempo and low-friction sustain.
Raid
Single-target specialists and debuff support rise in value fast.
Tower
Stability and control usually outperform greedy damage.
Arena
Control, taunt, cleanse, and anti-burst matter most.
Collaboration note
The March 18 official update introduced the Solo Leveling collaboration roster. Those units are live, but they are still in the play-and-verify phase rather than the hard-rank-forever phase. Expect this page to move again once broader community testing settles.
Tier list FAQ
Should I build PvP units first?
Usually no. Solve farming and story friction first unless your account is already mature.
Is rerolling mandatory?
No. It is helpful, but current sources do not treat it as required for normal progress.
Why are collaboration units provisional?
Because they are newly released and do not yet have enough stable cross-source ranking data.
